Presentation 2 -melany
Hello I am Melany, My thoughts on presentation two on why our elections matter to us in our democracy. There was three groups each with different subtopics. Overall I really liked group twos presentation it was very well organized and put together I also think that all the participants put there all into the slides. I also want to say that I am very impressed with my group which is group 3 I think we did really good for being the smallest group and also the first group to present. I'm going to start off with group three which is my own group. Our topic was why elections matter to us in our democracy and our subtopic was immigration and law and order. I believe that our topics went really well together, and they were easy topics to understand and elaborate on we had a total of ten members in our group. It was divided like so, Lizette did the introduction which is a brief explanation of what the presentation is about and history of anti immigration laws which is a list if laws that where against immigration. Melany (me) did statistics which is statistics stats like the percentage of people who become a citizen. Melody did how laws affect citizenship which is the easibility of becoming a citizen. Mya did citizenship which is what it is and how to get it. Nicole did immigration laws in the past which is how immigration laws where like before for instance some that may not exist anymore. Priscila did immigration laws now which is what are our current laws on immigration. Tyler did the comparison of immigration laws which is a comparison of immigration laws that have changed or are similar. Yeni did government which is how government may affect the process. Lila did views of government which is how certain elected officials see immigration. Marcia did the outro which is an overall view of the presentation. Lastly Marcia and Mya did the Brochure. I was not there for the presentation but looking back at the recordings I think everyone did a really good job overall I am really happy I was placed in this group and our project came out like how it did. I believe our presentation was very informative and educational for people who are not aware of citizenship immigration and law and order. To conclude this groups presentation elections provide an important opportunity to advance democratization and encourage political liberalization. Next onto Group 2 presentation.
Group two's topic was why our elections matter to us in our democracy and their subtopics are racial divide and economy. The brochure in group two was presented by Andrew which had really good statistics and information about there topics going into the definition of the club for growth. After the brochure the first topic they went into was economy, specifically the history of the American economy, listing important points where they will explain eras in American economy. The next slides were about overview of money in American politics they also listed eras of where American politicians changed economy. The next few slides where about America vs the world where they all in all cover how economy worked differently in America verses other places. Next view slides where on local and national associations, started with local associations explaining popular associations and what they do, then explaining national association, also explaining what they are and do. Moving on to the next topic of racial divide, they started of explaining this topic and important key notes to keep in mind of. Next they talked about local and national associations for racial divide. Also getting into the top 5 best and worst countries to live in considering racial divide. After that the next few slides on racial divide are on racial divide in a national scale. One of the most interesting slides are on Florida senate candidates and information on the based of the topic. Overall this was my favorite presentation really liked the subtopics they were very interesting and the way that everyone explaining it did not take away from it. I also think that the group leader was very involved and participated a lot. Ten out of ten for group two. Lastly on the next group which is group one.
Group one's topic was why our elections matter to us in our democracy and their subtopics are education and health care. Starting off with an agenda and explaining what healthcare is. After defining what healthcare is they go on to explain what certain types of healthcare, such as Beveridge model, National Health Insurance model, Bismarck mode, and lastly out of pocket model. After this slide they go to show the interview with a healthcare professional, asking questions and giving the professionals answer. After the healthcare topic the other subtopic they have is education starting off with types of education. The three main types of education are public, charter, and private. Next few slides where on low and high income areas and how they affect education, which is very self explanatory. High Income ends of raising people with high education, and low income does not. After education coming to the end of the presentation there is a little recap on healthcare and education and why it affects our day to day lives. Overall I think this presentation was really good and I really enjoyed to subtopics I thought they were very interesting and good topics overall. Generally I think everyone did really good and I want to thank Madison, Lizette and Mya for helping me. I think the topic was very important especially now during election time. It helps enlighten everyone in our democracy educate themselves on important topic for our elections. This is my blog on my thoughts of all groups presentations on the topic of why our elections matter to us in our democracy, with the subtopics of immigration, law and order, education, healthcare, racial divide, and economy. Thank you so much, Melany.
